The world’s greatest human / robot duo, Satanic Puppeteer Orchestra, makes a rare live appearance this Thursday, November 7 at SDSU. Possibly the most unique “concert” experience of the year, the pair, consisting of singing robot SPO-20 and songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, Professor B. Miller, will take part in a class, performing a short set, followed by a Q & A session. The free class / event is open to the public, taking place at 11 a.m. in room GMCS 333 on the San Diego State University Campus.
“Thursday we will be performing at SDSU to a lecture hall of students studying us as a work of experimental fiction,” explained Prof. Miller. “After our set, we will be answering questions from the crowd. It is going to be one for the history books that can then be used in another class to teach our band.”
Satanic Puppeteer Orchestra is currently in the midst of releasing a series of 20 themed albums, all with incredible packaging to boot. Their latest collectable disc, Have an Existential Crisis, includes appearances from several musical luminaries including Pat Beers (Schizophonics), Marie Haddad (Baby Bushka), Pall Jenkins (Blackheart Procession) and John Roy (Smoke & Mirrors Sound System).
“As we continue recording these albums, we have no further performances scheduled at this time, so this is your chance,” said Prof. Miller. “Not enrolled? Come crash the class. You look like a student to me. You might even learn something.”
