1980’s era hard rock favorites Ratt are celebrating the 40th Anniversary of their debut album, Out of The Cellar, by reissuing their multi-platinum-selling Atlantic Records catalog on colored vinyl.
Included in the reissue series are:
Detonator (1990 – red)
Invasion Of Your Privacy (1985 – black/grey/white)
Dancing Undercover (1986 – red/black/white stripe)
Reach for the Sky (1988 – white)
1984’s Out of the Cellar gets extra special treatment. In addition to being issued on red and black splatter vinyl, the album includes a bonus neon orange 7” inch single, complete with picture sleeve, of a previously unreleased song from the same recording sessions: “Reach for the Sky.” Meanwhile, the CD edition of the album will feature a special lenticular cover.
The colored vinyl reissues follow the release earlier this year of the album, Ratt Rarities, via Cleopatra Records, which collected early demos and vintage live tracks.
Ratt is also featured in the new documentary, Nöthin’ But a Good Time: The Uncensored Story of ’80s Hair Metal, directed by Jeff Tremaine, with the band’s frontman, Stephen Pearcy, amongst the interviewees. The film is due out this year on Paramount+.
In further Ratt-related news,
Pearcy will mark the 40th Anniversary of Out of the Cellar with a tour dubbed Back to the Cellar, playing songs from the iconic album along with other hits.
Tour Highlights:
December 30: A return to the legendary Whiskey A Go-Go in Los Angeles
March 10–15, 2025: The Monsters of Rock Cruise sailing from Miami
Pearcy also recently made an appearance on guitarist Michael Schenker’s latest album, My Life with UFO, taking the lead vocal on a new version of that band’s classic 1973 track, “Shoot, Shoot.”
