Former Bauhaus frontman, Peter Murphy has released a new live album recorded in San Diego, via his label, Silver Shade Records.
Live Volume 3: 4th & B San Diego 2000, was recorded on April 5, 2000, one of two dates he played at the now defunct titular downtown San Diego venue that year, the other taking place on November 28. The album opens with a cover of Pere Ubu’s 1976 single “Final Solution,” and features a total of 16-tracks with Murphy backed by an all-star band that included another former Bauhaus member, Kevin Haskins (drums), as well as Eric Avery (Jane’s Addiction / bass), Doug De Angelis (keyboards) and Peter DiStefano (Porno for Pyros, Psychedelic Furs / guitar).
The night’s show featured 20 songs in a main set and 3 encore mini sets, with one song from each set omitted from this release: “Deep Ocean, Vast Sea,” “Indigo Eyes” (acoustic), “Cuts You Up,” and “Love Me Tender” respectively. The latter is a version of the 1956 Elvis Presley classic.
Collectors Alert: Live Volume 3: 4th & B San Diego 2000 is available as a double album on red vinyl, packaged in an embossed, numbered sleeve with UV spot printing, featuring an exclusive cover painting by Peter Murphy.
