NAMM 2025 (aka The National Association for Music Merchandisers) was another one for the record books, as it made its annual return to the Anaheim Convention Center, January 21-25, in Anaheim, CA. The five-day event, which showcased the latest in musical innovation and gear for merchants and musicians alike, attracted thousands of attendees from around the world. Notably, NAMM’s headquarters are in Carlsbad, also hosting the Museum of Making Music.

Along with the educational seminars and vast array of exhibits, including an impressive display of Rick Allen of Def Leppard’s custom drum kit, a display of new gear from Jack White’s Third Man, and hundreds of instrument manufacturers including San Diego’s own Taylor Guitars and Iconic Guitars, NAMM 2025 played host to a plethora of musical talent, including many performers from San Diego. Slack Key ‘Ohana, Daring Greatly, Roni Lee, and The Zach Gutierrez Trio were among the artists that joined such international legends as music icon Peter Frampton, Elton John percussionist John Mahon, and Billy Zoom of X, just a few of the artists on hand at this year’s NAMM to entertain the masses.

Scott Blinn of Iconic Guitars considered the event a success. “I enjoyed the camaraderie and buzz among our team, seeing a lot of industry friends, and the after-hours festivities,” he said.

“Performing at NAMM is such a whirlwind of activity, it’s almost a little overwhelming,” commented Slack Key Ohana’s Brian Witkin, who played twice during the event. “The logistics can be tricky, but it’s so worth it. It’s amazing to have so many components of the music industry, all in one place, at the same time.”
