Pianist Conor Hanick presents a solo recital that connects Romantic lyricism with modern and contemporary expression. The program pairs Franz Schubert’s Two Impromptus, Op. 142 with the newly revised Three Impromptus by Samuel Carl Adams, heard in their West Coast premiere and inspired by Schubert’s musical language. The recital concludes with Charles Ives’s monumental Piano Sonata No. 1, a landmark work of American modernism.
