This Thanksgiving, Slowly Restaurant & Lounge, the Landini family’s new culinary destination at 1520 Garnet Ave. in Pacific Beach will invite guests to gather for a festive feast, available exclusively from Thursday, Nov. 28 to Friday, Dec. 20. Slowly’s full menu of Mediterranean cuisine infused with Baja flair will also be available.
Executive Chef Yadira Cuevas pulled inspiration from her native Michoacán, Mexico into a trio of Thanksgiving dishes. They include traditional carnitas, tender pork served with nopal salad, pickled onions, house-made red salsa and guacamole, priced at $35; atapakua chicken breast with a traditional Michoacán sauce crafted from guajillo peppers, spices, herbs and seeds, served with mushrooms and guajillo pepper sauce over red rice, priced at $29.50; and candied sweet potato, caramelized with piloncillo and cinnamon, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, priced at $14.
Seasonal cocktails include the Autumn Float, a combination of Captain Morgan, Baileys Irish Cream, house-made pumpkin puree and cola, topped with vanilla ice cream and cinnamon sugar, priced at $19; the cranberry apple Moscow mule, made with Deep Eddy Cranberry Vodka, Julian fresh-pressed hard apple cider and ginger beer, priced at $14; and the pumpkin spiced espresso martini, made with vanilla vodka, Baileys Irish Cream, espresso, pumpkin spice and house-made pumpkin puree with a cinnamon sugar rim, priced at $17.
Slowly’s interior radiates inviting warmth, featuring oversized banquettes and cozy chairs upholstered in vibrant greens and rich earth tones, complemented by gold accents. Hand-painted murals by a local artist add a touch of creative flair to the dining room and bar.
