Fuzz Huzzi / Celebrating 33 Years of Rock ‘n’ Roll

South Bay based rock ‘n’ roll combo, Fuzz Huzzi, celebrates their 33rd Anniversary with a special show on May 29 at the Salty Frog in Imperial Beach. Plans are for a three-hour show with many special guests.

It’s been a long-storied career for the group. Just two highlights: In 2009 Fuzz-Huzzi recorded a four song EP with producer Marcos Curiel of hard rockers P.O.D. Meanwhile, in 2024 Fuzz Huzzi won the Best Rock Album category at the 34th annual San Diego Music Awards with their album Waiting on the Sun.

“I am grateful for all the musicians, from 1993 to the current lineup, that gave their time and efforts to keep in this music alive. I couldn’t have done it without them,” said guitarist / frontman Allen Camp.

Notably, Fuzz Huzzi doesn’t have a set lineup, instead relying on a loose group of musicians that Camp calls the FH Mafia.  “After I lost my bass player and drummer at the same time I realized that I probably was not going to be able to put a band together, so instead I put a group of musicians together that would like to play for us as needed. I’m trying to get it all organized to be able to play shows and Europe North America South America etc. It’s a long task ahead of me, but I think the FH Mafia will ultimately be a collective and it will grow into something bigger than ourselves or a band.”

In addition to preparing for the big show May 29, Camp has been working on new projects. “I have been writing a new record,” he said. “I have about six to seven songs going to start recording soon with Corey Wilkins and I also have an idea to record with all my friends, so I am currently connecting the dots for that.” Camp is also starting “the FH Mafia, which is basically many musicians around the country getting together so we can play some shows together in all the different markets.”

Looking back at more than three decades of recording and touring, “I think the biggest accomplishment for Fuzz Huzzi is bringing people together all over the country, and world, that have loved the music or played the music with me,” Camp remarked. “That’s 33 years of connections, 33 years of shows, 33 years of miles on tour, 33 years of blood sweat and tears. Some would say is it worth it? And I say “yes it is” when I look around and see the people that have been involved in this journey of rock and roll.”

In addition to the May 29 33rd Anniversary Show at the Salty Frog, Fuzz Huzzi will next head north, taking part in Escondido’s Moosestock 2026, performing on June 7.
